# Supported Devices

> The devices and setup we recommend for using the Wingbase app.

The Wingbase app is available for iPad and iPhone, with the same features on both.

Choose the device that best fits how and where your team works during the day.

## iPad and iPhone

Wingbase requires **iPadOS 18.4 or later** on iPad and **iOS 18.4 or later** on iPhone.

To check which version your device is running, go to **Settings → General → About** and look for **iPadOS Version** or **iOS Version**.

If you’re buying a new device, you can view the current [iPad](https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/buy-ipad) and [iPhone](https://www.apple.com/uk/iphone/) ranges from Apple.

## Recommended iPad

For most flight schools, we recommend **iPad mini**.

Its compact size works well at reception, in briefing and ground school rooms, around the airfield and in the aircraft. Wingbase is optimised for the iPad mini screen and the device is easy to carry around the school.

If you expect to use it regularly away from reliable Wi-Fi, consider an iPad with **Cellular**.

## Around the school

An iPad can move with your team or stay in one place.

For a device that stays at reception, on a desk or in a briefing room, a stand can make it easier to use throughout the day. [Bouncepad](https://bouncepad.com/) offers a range of stands designed for tablet setups.

You can also connect a keyboard, mouse or trackpad. Some keyboards and mice can connect to several devices, making it easy to switch between an iPad and a nearby computer.

An iPhone is useful when your team wants Wingbase close at hand while moving between students, briefing rooms and aircraft.

## Working with your computer

If your school uses a Mac alongside an iPad, Apple features can make it easier to work between them.

**Universal Control** lets you use the same keyboard, mouse or trackpad across a Mac and iPad. **Universal Clipboard** lets you copy text on one device and paste it on the other.

Files stored in iCloud Drive can also be accessed through the Files app when uploading documents to Wingbase. iCloud Drive is available on both Mac and Windows.

## Keep Wingbase up to date

We update the Wingbase app regularly with improvements, fixes and new features.

We recommend keeping automatic App Store updates turned on. Go to **Settings → Apps → App Store → App Updates** and make sure it is enabled.

We also recommend keeping iPadOS and iOS up to date.
