# Import your aircraft

> Bring your aircraft into Wingbase and, if needed, set up existing defects and maintenance tasks.

We’ll help you bring the aircraft your school operates into Wingbase so they’re ready for scheduling and day-to-day use.

During onboarding, we’ll provide an Aircraft Import Template to help organise this information. If you already have your fleet information in another spreadsheet or system, you can provide that instead and we’ll review it with you.

## Aircraft

We can bring across information such as:

* Registration
* Make and model
* Year
* Current Tach or Hobbs time
* Status
* Notes

Current aircraft hours can also be used if you want Wingbase to track hour-based maintenance.

## Defects

If you want to manage aircraft defects in Wingbase, we can also bring across existing defects that your team still needs to keep track of.

Defects can be open, deferred or resolved, allowing your team to see current issues and keep a history as they’re dealt with.

You don’t need to bring across existing defects if you’d prefer to start using Wingbase for defects from your go-live date.

## Maintenance tasks

Wingbase uses tasks to keep track of scheduled aircraft maintenance and recurring requirements.

These can include things like:

* 50-hour inspections
* Annual inspections
* Oil changes
* Transponder checks
* Other recurring maintenance

Tasks can be tracked using aircraft hours or calendar dates depending on the requirement.

When a task is completed, Wingbase keeps the completion in the aircraft’s history and the next requirement can be scheduled.

Maintenance tasks are optional. If your school manages maintenance somewhere else, you can simply bring across the aircraft you need for scheduling.

## Aircraft documents

Aircraft documents can also be brought across, including certificates, licences, insurance and other files you already keep for your fleet.

Where relevant, an expiry date can be recorded so Wingbase can remind your school about upcoming renewals.

See **Import your documents** for more information.

## What happens next?

Once you’ve shared your aircraft information with us, we’ll review it and get in touch if anything needs clarification.

We’ll then bring your aircraft into Wingbase and set up any additional maintenance information you’ve chosen to include.
