# Prepare your data

> Get your existing data and documents ready for migration to Wingbase.

You don’t need to have everything perfectly organised before you start.

If you already have spreadsheets or exports from your current system, you can provide them in their existing format. For information that isn’t already available in a suitable format, we’ll provide import templates during onboarding.

## Start with what you already have

Most schools already have useful information spread across spreadsheets, exports, documents or another management system.

You can share what you already have and we’ll review it with you. There’s no need to manually reorganise everything before we’ve taken a look.

## Import templates

Where needed, we’ll provide templates to help organise the main information required for your migration.

These cover areas such as:

* School setup
* Training
* Aircraft
* Students
* Bookings
* Safety reports

You don’t need to complete every optional field. If something isn’t available or doesn’t apply to your school, it can usually be left out.

## Documents

You can also provide the documents you want to bring into Wingbase, including student, school, aircraft and safety documents.

Your existing files don’t need to be perfectly organised. We’ll review what you have and help work out where everything belongs.

## Send things in stages

You don’t need to wait until every spreadsheet and document is ready.

Once the main information is available, we can start reviewing your migration while you continue adding anything that’s missing.

## What happens next?

We’ll review the information you’ve provided and get in touch if anything needs clarification.

Once everything is ready, we’ll begin preparing your Wingbase account and importing the agreed data.
